Kandy – Ella – Mirissa – Galle – Colombo

Day 01 : Kandy

Arrive at Colombo International Airport. Here, you will be met by a designated chauffer guide from SHA Tours. After the formalities at the airport you will be escorted to your air-conditioned vehicle and proceed to Kandy. Visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (Per Person USD 5.00).

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage : About 90 KM from Colombo. Home to some 100 or more elephant orphans. A place you will really enjoy and never forget. Most orphans are accustomed to their curious human visitors and are harmless. The Orphanage is open from 8.30am to 5.45pm and visitors can interact a little with the elephants during the regulated bathing and feeding times. You can watch them feeding at 9.15 am, 1.15 and 5.00 pm. Bath times are from 10 am until 12 noon and from 2 until 4 pm.

There after visit Botanical garden at Peradeniya. Peradeniya Botanical Garden (LKR 1100 per person)- This is a much visited and acclaimed botanical garden, which is also good for birds. It is bounded on three sides by the Mahaveli River, which I snakes around the 60- hectare gardens. Before its use as Botanical gardens it had served as a royal pleasure garden.

Day 02 : Kandy

After breakfast go for a city tour in Kandy.

Kandy city – Kandy is the English name for the city of Maha Nuvara (Senkadagalapura) in the center of Sri Lanka. It lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is one of the most scenic cities in Sri Lanka; it is both an administrative and religious city.

On completion visit the famous Kandy Temple of the Tooth Relic. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. (Per Person USD 8.00)

Temple of the Tooth Relic : The Temple of the Sacred Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) was originally built by the Kandyan Kings in 1595, to house and honor the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. Attracting crowds of white-clad pilgrims bearing lotus flowers for means of worship, the Maligawa features a myriad of intricate carvings that speak volumes of the architectural values of Kandy. Today the City of Kandy is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in part because of the Temple of the tooth relic.

Later that evening, go on technical tour related to the arts such as gem crafting, woodcarving and batiks. And watch the Kandyan Cultural Show with its colorful traditional dances and delightful music. (Per Person USD 5)

The Kandy Cultural Show gives an opportunity to experience some of the traditions of Sri Lanka. Enjoy this hour-long extravaganza as some of the most popular art forms of the island take to the stage. Be wowed by fire dancers and sword dancers. Watch the colorful Kandyan dancers take to the air to the thrumming primal beat of the drums. On completion, return to the hotel.

Day 03 : Ella

After breakfast you will proceed to Ella, lush and green tea plantations stretching in every direction. We’ll be stopping to get a closer look and learn the art of tea picking (and brewing) from local pickers. You’ll have time to yourself this morning to chill and explore the pretty town of Ella.

Day 04 : Ella

In Ella, it is advisable to begin your day at the crack of dawn if you want to hike to Little Adam’s Peak and get the best view at the Ella Gap. The Nine Arch Bridge is another attraction that you can visit in Ella before you return to your hotel for another night.

Day 05 : Mirissa

After breakfast proceed to Mirissa.

Full day at leisure on the beach.

Day 07 : Galle

After breakfast leave for Galle. the first stop is at Kosgoda where we will visit the turtle farm, After we visit the turtle farm, we continue our journey to Galle, Galle is the best example of a fortified city built by Europeans in south and southeast Asia, showing the interaction between European architectural styles and south Asian traditions. The Galle fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers.

When we arrived in Galle we sight seeing the city, visit the Dutch fort, the Galle Museum, a old Dutch church and the British church , We proceed and see the stick Fishermen sit on sticks while fishing in the traditional way. We proceed to Hikkaduwa. Hikkaduwa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka. It is located in the Southern Province, about 20 km north-west of Galle. We go with a glassbottom boat and watch the corals, if you like it you can go snorkeling, after that we will have a boatrip at the Maduganga River in balapltiya with his famous 68 islands.

Day 08 : Colombo
After enjoying the breakfast check out and go on a City & Shopping tour in Colombo.

On completion proceed to airport and drop off for departure flight.
